Yuroz lovers have populated his canvases for 30 years as he expressed in different mediums and styles. In this “Yuroz Lovers, the Bright and Bold Series”, painted with oil/acrylic on museum board, Yuroz releases select work from his vault with strong colors and fierce brushwork fainting traces of Fauvism. Unafraid, Yuroz deploys opposite and analogous colors to express power and contrast or quiet and calm, while defining them with strong black divides. This series shows off this artist’s understanding of color and light with his symbolism in his narratives and geometric stylistic elements.
“The chief function of color should be to serve expression. Color helps to express light, not the physical phenomenon, but the only light that really exists, that in the artist’s brain.” – Henri Matisse
In “Yuroz Lovers, the Bright and Bold Series”, the painter used two separate palettes. The following images are select ones where Yuroz presents a foreground of bright complementing red and orange colors for the couple. To further energize the mood, the painter chose a grey hue as background with black defining lines that gives full definition and calm viewers’ senses.

In most ancient cultures, the color gold symbolized the sun and the spirit of the divine. That changed with Giotto began using the color blue to represent heaven and external existence. In “Yuroz Lovers, the Bright and Bold Series”, the painter used the blue and gold background, signifying a unifying and expansive feeling of unlimited possibilities.
Much like musicians playing in a symphony, except here, the painter uses explosive colors and forthright brushstrokes as his means, Yuroz aims to provoke a psychic vibration from his viewers each time the images are viewed.
